Dear Investors and Community Members!
While our overall ICO has been very successful, THEKEY team would like to take this opportunity to address the handful of negative events that emerged during the final phases of our crowd sale event.
Following the incredible rise in value of crypto currencies we were regrettably required to restrict the volume of our sale to a smaller number of tokens.
In anticipation of what was emerging as a highly popular sales event, we took steps to ensure that our online servers would be capable of handling the unexpectedly high levels of interest Telegram was indicating. This included quickly expanding our infrastructure to support hundreds versus tens of thousands of concurrent users.
Unfortunately as the number of you — our community — grew far beyond our expectations we also suddenly experienced a large influx in malicious traffic that served to consume significant resources on our servers.
This ended up overwhelming our infrastructure and caused outages during the critical phase of our crowd sale. This malicious “Denial of Service” traffic also flooded our community telegram channel, distributing externally generated (and inappropriate/inauthentic) messages at a non-human rates (dozens of messages per ‘user’ per second). We were suddenly forced to call upon significant additional computing resources to keep our channel ‘clean’.
While external solutions were considered, in order to protect our investors and protect our users’ identification information, we ultimately decided to use a less personal email submission process to complete our crowd sale.
We learned many lessons from this experience, have already begun developing strategies for insuring it never happens again, and moving forward, have expedited our commitment to listing TKY on the major exchanges as they open ASAP to enable those of our community members who unfortunately missed out to still invest early into THEKEY.
This is just the next step on the long, exciting and abundant journey we anticipate sharing with you.
