By counting down to 2020, we are excited to celebrate together the beginning of a new year. It has been two years since THEKEY was founded, and thank you all for your support in the past two years.
2019 was a tough year for many blockchain projects. Many of the early players of cryptocurrency and blockchain industries have entered a downward spiral, with many crypto celebrities and blockchain projects literally vanishing from the playground, and some members of the fraternity dived into other professions, but I am more than grateful that THEKEY has been standing firmly and determinedly on the playground and has made great achievements in 2019.
- THEKEY attended the Medical Insurance Credit Evaluation System Seminar as exclusive blockchain solution provider.
- Following the winning of International Competitive Bidding organized by Nanjing Financial Technology Research and Innovation Center, THEKEY has received fund support from Municipal Government of Nanjing.
- THEKEY was granted a “National Technology Innovation Award of Chinese Government’s Information Product” for its blockchain solution for Multi-dimensional Elderly Survival Authentication.
- The Laboratory on Blockchain Hybrid Consensus Mechanism was jointly established by Harbin Institute of Technology and THEKEY, aiming at exploring the PoP (Proof of Power) and hybrid consensus mechanism.
- Released THEKEY Blue Paper 2019 featuring the future work plan in public chain construction, data sharing scheme and the profit model of THEKEY.
- THEKEY has successfully bid for “Digital Social Security Fund Management and Service” of Jiangsu Province organized by six ministries in China including the People’s Bank of China, Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and National Health Commission.
- THEKEY deployed “Pensioner Identification System Based on Blockchain and Big Data Technology” in Kaifeng City, Henan Province.
Despite all the turbulence and hardships we have experienced in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, our team has remained true to our original aspiration. As a Chinese saying goes, the road is full of obstacles, while the destination can only be reached with persistence and determination.
As mentioned in the Blue Paper, in the upcoming year, we expect to focus on the following aspects:
- Public Chain Solution. The fundamental purpose of THEKEY Public Chain is to promote the safe transmission and use of IPD among different stakeholders in a decentralized community through blockchain technology. To address these more complex social issues with blockchain, we have embedded three distinct ‘hybrid’ characteristics into our THEKEY Public Chain technical solutions: (1) a hybrid solution integrating centralization with decentralization as optimally exploits the best of both philosophies and solutions, (2) combines both blockchain and big data technology, and (3) adopt a hybrid consensus mechanism.
- THEKEY Selected Node Solution. All the selected nodes in THEKEY community adopt unified data collection and data processing including data standardization, data quality control and data security management and control scheme. The purpose is to realize data secure sharing and calculation between the nodes. THEKEY selected node solution uses a 3+6+N architecture, and its infrastructure layer includes cloud platform, big data platform and blockchain platform.
- THEKEY Business Model. THEKEY will be based on identity verification technology and related technologies in the next two to three years, using identification data to form the profit model of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and data as a service (DaaS).
- Governance. We will continue to enhance and implement additional appropriate disclosure, legal, financial and ethical management practices internally to the high standards of publicly listed companies.
- Sales promotion. We will focus on abovementioned business model and achieve significant sales revenue.
It is evident the blockchain market has remained bearish for long and maybe for even longer, and the tasks laid out in front of THEKEY are more formidable and intricate. However, I uphold great optimism for THEKEY in the coming year! By following the work plan and the roadmap, I firmly believe THEKEY will achieve a whole new level.
